Carifta campaigns end in first and second finishes

The Bahamas captured the Carifta Aquatics championship and held on to second in Athletics over the long Easter weekend.

It was the fourth consecutive Carifta win for the aquatics team, and its eight title in the last nine years. The swimmers will get the chance to host their Caribbean counterparts in 2024, since the 2024 Carifta swim championships. The decision was announced in Barbados as the 2022 edition wrapped up at the Barbados Aquatic Center.

Meanwhile, the Bahamas will host the Carifta Athletics championships in 2023. The event will also be one of the engagements to be held during the Bahamas’ 50th anniversary of Independence.

The Bahamas’ athletics team finished its 2022 Carifta campaign in second place, behind Jamaica.
